The Lower Verdon Gorges are less dramatic than the Gorge, but they are no less beautiful, and are mostly easier to access. They begin after the impoundment of Quinson and continue until the Esparron de Verdon.
More accessible than the Verdon Gorges, they are an opportunity to peaceful walks in electric boat or canoe, the slow rhythm of the Verdon. Surrounded by medium cliffs, their banks are green and can often be addressed. Family is a charming pleasure than enjoying a summer day or spring in this unspoilt, quiet and relaxing.
Summer tourists are of course many more, but it is also an opportunity for exchanges between boats laughing! The atmosphere is cheerful and relaxation. The absence of motor boats is very much in the sense of peace and tranquility that we find in the Lower Gorges of Verdon.
On the banks, hiking trails allow a sportier ride, but do not engage them without the proper equipment, and without first taking all the necessary information from the municipalities or professionals. The Lower Gorges Dam is fed by Quinson, and are therefore subject to some water releases that can be dangerous.
In Quinson, you will find a great site to host your pic-nics, and restraint of Esparron, the decor is fantastic. Do not miss the Lower Verdon Gorges, while visiting the area.
