Based in Aups, a small town close to the Gorges du Verdon, since 1996, Maria de Faykod, renowned sculptor with works already numerous, had the original idea to open a public park, which exhibits some of his creations. The elegance and beauty of the sculptures of nature meet, mingle, and offer a unique journey into the imagination of the artist.
The works of Maria de Faykod are carved in white Carrara marble, a noble, dear to the greatest sculptors, which adds to the purity of the artist at work. See them between erect trees will provide a sustained and intense emotion.
Maria de Faykod realized numbers of works that still adorn our cities, works as diverse as the Monument to escapees from war in the sixteenth arrondissement of Paris, Water and Man, a fountain-sculpture exposed to Dignes, or a unique sculpture of Mozart, in Draguignan.
More recently, Maria de Faykod has done a splendid Way of the Cross in Lourdes, a series of 17 monumental sculptures absolutely remarkable and much acclaimed by critics and audiences.
